Telecom Argentina S.A. (Telecom Argentina) is principally engaged in providing fixed-line public telecommunication services, international long-distance services, and data transmission and Internet services in Argentina. The company has classified its business operations into two segments, namely, Voice, Data and Internet, and Wireless. Telecom Argentina offers a wide range of products and services, including local area, national and international long-distance communications, interconnection with other operators, data transmission that includes private networks, point-to-point traffic, radio and television signal transmission, supplementary services, outsourcing of IT solutions, as well as Internet services. The company also offers local area, national long-distance and international wireless communications, data transmission, and mobile handsets. Additionally, it also provides various value added services, such as call waiting, voice mail, short message systems (SMS) and Internet access. The company is headquartered at Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In April 2009, Telecom Personal S.A. acquired Springville S.A., which offers mobile telephony services under the model name MVNO or Mobile Virtual Network Operator in Uruguay.The company reported revenues of (Argentine Peso) ARS 10,608.00 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, an increase of 16.91% over 2007. The operating profit of the company was ARS 2,041.00 million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 24.76% over 2007. The net profit of the company was ARS 961.00 million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 8.71% over 2007.
