Sinovac Biotech Ltd is engaged in the research, development, manufacture and commercialization of vaccines that protect against human infectious diseases including hepatitis A, seasonal influenza, H5N1 (bird flu) pandemic influenza and H1N1 influenza. Sinovac was the first company worldwide to receive approval for H1N1 influenza vaccine. Recently, the company formed joint venture with Dalian Jingang Group Co., Ltd., to form Sinovac (Dalian) Vaccine Technology Co., Ltd. (Sinovac Dalian), which will be engaged in the research, development, production and commercialization of human-use vaccines. Also, the company further acquired a minority stake in its joint venture company, Sinovac (Dalian) Vaccine Technology Co., Ltd. (Sinovac Dalian), increasing its total stake in the company for a cash consideration of CNY50 million. This acquisition enables the company to further expand its manufacturing capacity, diversify its production capabilities and increase its operations. The company is headquartered in Beijing, China.

Sinovac, has reported that its common shares will be listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market,on January 3, 2011
