Myriad Genetics, Inc. (Myriad) is a research focused biotechnology company engaged in the development and commercialization of small molecular diagnostic products. The company offers different medicine products to improve patient`s health such as predictive medicine, prognostic medicine and personalized medicine products in the areas of oncology and CNS related disorders. In January 2009, the company acquired all rights of bevirimat from Panacos Pharmaceuticals, Inc. In April 2009, Myriad received IND approval for its new cancer drug and launched OnDose as its seventh molecular diagnostic product. The company spun off its research and pharmaceutical business in July 2009. The company is headquartered in Salt Lake City in Utah, the US.
In January 2010, the company entered into an agreement with Mammography Reporting System (MRS) to increase the identification of patients at high risk for hereditary breast cancer, enabling an appropriate level of monitoring and preventive care.The company reported revenues of (U.S. Dollars) USD 326.53 million during the fiscal year ended June 2009, an increase of 46.52% over 2008. The operating profit of the company was USD 126.46 million during the fiscal year 2009, an increase of 105.28% over 2008. The net profit of the company was USD 84.62 million during the fiscal year 2009, an increase of 76.85% over 2008.
