The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Newcastle) is one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK that offers a wider range of specialist services. It is engaged in providing patient-centred healthcare to communities in the North East of England and beyond for over 250 years. The wider range of specialist services offered range from newborn babies to the elderly and infirm individuals. The healthcare services are delivered from seven major sites, which include Freeman Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI), Newcastle General Hospital (NGH), Newcastle Dental Hospital, Newcastle Fertility Centre, Northern Genetics Service and Walkergate Hospital. The trust is renowned for lung, liver and heart transplants, paediatric immunology, fetal surgery, research into falls and syncope and genetic services. The trust incorporates the services previously provided by the Freeman Group of Hospitals NHS Trust and the Royal Victoria and Associated Hospitals NHS Trust. It is headquartered at Newcastle upon Tyne in Tyne and Wear, England.
