As of December 28, 2008, McClatchy owned 30 daily newspapers and approximately 50 non dailies located in 29 markets. Additionally, it also owns 14.4% of CareerBuilder, an online job site; 25.6% of Classified Ventures, a newspaper industry partnership that offers classified Web sites; cars.com, an auto Web site; and apartments.com, a rental site. The company is headquartered at Sacramento, California.The company reported revenues of (U.S. Dollars) USD 1,900.46 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, a decrease of 15.92% from 2007. The operating profit of the company was USD 156.17 million during the fiscal year 2008, whereas the company reported an operating loss of USD 2,650.52 million during 2007.
