The company, along with its subsidiaries, is engaged into diverse media business like newspaper publishing, television braodcasting, and licensing and syndication. The company specializes in operating daily and community newspapers in over 15 markets in the US and six ABC-affiliated stations, three NBC-affiliated stations and one independent Television station. The company is also involved in the business of syndication and licensing of news features and comics, under the trade name United Media. The company principally operates in the US and is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, US.The company reported revenues of (U.S. Dollars) USD 1,001.79 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, a decrease of 7.20% from 2007. The operating loss of the company was USD 920.35 million during the fiscal year 2008, as against an operating income of USD 95.37 million during 2007. The net loss of the company was USD 476.59 million during the fiscal year 2008, as compared to a net loss of USD 1.62 million during 2007.
