The Med-Design Corporation
The Med-Design Corporation (Med-Design) is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of safety medical devices used in hospitals. Its flagship product, SafeStep Huber Needle Set is a latex free needle set and is used to administer drugs, fluids and blood sampling through a implanted vascular ports. SafeStep consists of a tubing extension set, non-coring Huber-type needle and built-in safety mechanism and is designed to prevent accidental needlestick injuries. Its extension tubing set is available in straight and y-site configurations. Med-Design is headquartered in Utah, the US.
The Med-Design Corporation entered into merger with Specialized Health Products International, Inc. on June 2, 2006. C. R. Bard, Inc. completed the acquisition of Specialized Health Products International, Inc. on June 6, 2008.
