Biomedical Structures LLC (BMS) is engaged in the manufacturing and supplying of medical/surgical devices to the healthcare markets. The product portfolio of the company includes knitted mesh, braids, woven tapes and tubes, resorbable non-woven structures. Knitted meshes are used in devices intended to reinforce soft tissue. Braids are used in tubing reinforcement, device assembly, retrieval system and component attachment. Non-woven structures provide restorative applications, ranging from wound dressings to organ regeneration to cosmetic surgery and needled non-woven structures are employed where natural tissue regeneration is desired. It provides services to tissue engineers, medical device manufacturers, academic and research institutes, dental community, regenerative community, surgical tool companies, biologic and veterinary medicine group. BMS is headquartered in Rhode Island, the US.
In March 2011, the company acquired Concordia Medical, a provider of medical implant technology utilizing biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
