It is engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of healthcare products, principally medical devices by means of its two business units, CooperVision, Inc. (CVI) and CooperSurgical, Inc. (CSI). The company operates in America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Cooper is headquartered in California, the US.
On July 1, 2009, CVI changed the name of its multifocal contact lens for emerging presbyopes, Biomedics EP, to Proclear EP. In May 2009, CSI launched the SpotLight Award program to honor Ob/Gyns for advancing surgical education among their peers.
The company generates revenues through two reportable business segments: CooperVision, Inc. and CooperSurgical, Inc. CVI markets a broad range of contact lenses throughout the world, while CSI markets diagnostic products, surgical instruments and accessories for the women`s healthcare market.
