It is focusing on the potential of thioredoxin, an anti stress factor, which inhibits molecules related to oxidation reduction in the body. The company develops pharmaceuticals for medical applications, functional health foods and methods for measuring stress. The business activities of RBS include development of pharmaceuticals, foods, cosmetics and stress measuring methods. The company promotes basic research through its collaboration with the academic, industrial and government sectors, along with the Translatioal Research Center, Kyoto University Hospital, Kyoto University Institute for Virus Research and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. It is headquartered at Sakyo-ku in Kyoto, Japan.
