Teleflex Medical, a business segment of Teleflex Incorporated, is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of medical devices, surgical instruments and disposable medical products for healthcare providers and medical equipment manufacturers. The products developed by the company includes sutures, ligation, chest drains, surgical instrumentation, wound closure systems, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, anesthesiology, respiratory, and urology care. The company is headquartered in North Carolina, the US.
During July 2009, the company introduced three universal seal ports to expand its Taut ADAPt product line. These products will help surgeons to perform laparoscopic procedures without torn seals, smudged cameras or the need for reducer caps.
The company reported revenues of (U.S. Dollars) USD 1,499.1 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, an increase of 43.89% over 2007. The operating profit of the company was USD 286.3 million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 56.79% over 2007.
