Cipher Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Cipher) is a publicly held pharmaceutical company. It is engaged in the development and commercialization of formulations. The company is focused on the development of novel formulations based on the therapeutic areas including gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, dermatology and pain management. It has three products under pipeline namely cip-fenofibrate, cip-tramadoler and cip-isotretinoin. Cipher uses technologies, that are in-licensed from Galephar Pharmaceutical Research for the development of its products. They are oral controlled-release beads in capsule format and oral semi-liquid capsules (Lidose). Its product cip-fenofibrate received final approval from the US FDA and Health Canada. The company is also involved in the development of formulations of acne treatment isotretinoin and pain reliever tramadol. It operates as a pharmaceutical division of CML Healthcare Inc. The company has three subsidiaries namely, Cipher Canada Inc., Cipher Holdings (Barbados) Ltd. and Cipher Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Recently, the company entered into development, distribution and supply agreement with Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Inc (RPI). Cipher is headquartered in Ontario, Canada.
