Cabrellis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (Cabrellis) is a privately held specialty pharmaceutical company that engaged in the development of innovative therapies for the treatment of lung cancers. The lead product of the company includes Calsed (amrubicin hydrochloride), a third generation synthetic anti cancer drug that possess a higher level anti-tumour activity than the conventional anthracycline without showing any cardiac toxicity. The company has initiated the phase II clinical trials of Makita LCT300W and Makita LCT400W drugs for the treatment of small-cell lung cancer. Currently, Cabrellis has been acquired by Pharmion Corporation which has obtained exclusive rights from Dainippon Sumitomo, the Japanese marketer of synthetic anthracycline Amrubicin drug to commercialize it in the North American and European market. Cabrellis is headquartered at San Diego in California, the US.
