The Bank of Punjab
The Bank of Punjab (BOP) is a Pakistan based scheduled commercial bank. The bank principally provides range of banking services, including deposits in local currency, client deposit in foreign currency, and advances to businesses, trade, agriculture and industrial sectors. BOP also provides commercial banking, corporate and investment banking, cash management services, utility bill services and locker facilities. The e-banking services, ATM facilities and on-line banking services are also offered to the customers. The bank operates through a network of 272 branches located in Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Karachi, Faisalabad and Multan regions in Pakistan. BOP is headquartered at Lahore, Pakistan.The bank reported interest income of (Pakistan Rupee) PKR 17,752.65 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, an increase of 1.22% over 2007. The net interest income after loan loss provision of the bank was PKR 18,113.69 million during the fiscal year 2008, as against an operating income of PKR 1,712.39 million during 2007. The net loss of the bank was PKR 10,084.94 million during the fiscal year 2008, as against a net profit of PKR 4,454.02 million during 2007.
