European Investment Bank
European Investment Bank (EIB) is a long-term lending institution in the European Union (EU). The bank provides loans and guarantees to finance investment projects in both the private and public sectors. It offers individual loans, intermediate loans, and specialized instruments to large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, and municipalities. EIB also provides technical assistance to complement financing facilities. In addition, it offers guarantees to banks, guarantees to institutions, mutual guarantee funds, leasing companies, and special purpose vehicles. EIB has operations in Europe and Mediterranean countries; Asia, Latin, and Central America; and Africa, Caribbean, and Pacific countries. The bank is headquartered in Luxembourg.
