Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance Company Ltd. (Samsung Fire) is a Korea-based insurance company. It was previously known as Ankuk Fire & Marine Insurance. Samsung Fire is principally engaged in providing a wide range of non-life insurance products. The company is headquartered at Seoul, South Korea.
The company operates in three business segments namely Automobile insurance, long-term insurance and general insurance. It offers a range of insurance products and services that include automobile insurance, fire and marine insurance, guaranteed insurance, title insurance and casualty insurance. In addition, it provides risk management solutions to its clients. The company has its operations in the U.S, Europe, China, Indonesia, Japan, and Vietnam.
The company recorded revenues of KRW 9,197,742 million during the fiscal year ended March 2008, an increase of 16.5% over 2007. The operating profit of the company was KRW2,275,651million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 32.1% over 2007. The net profit of the company was KRW476,490 million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 39.7% over 2007.
