Motor Accident Commission
Motor Accident Commission (MAC) is South Australia`s Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurer and provides AUD 400 million per annum compensation to road victims. It is engaged in providing safety and welfare of all South Australian road users. MAC also manages the State Government`s road safety communications program and provides sponsorship funding for projects that aim to reduce the number and impact of road injuries and deaths. CTP insurance is built in to the registration process that is when a client registers the vehicle, he also pays a CTP insurance premium that is designed to provide cover for people injured in road crashes. In addition, the CTP Fund offers compensation for the road victims where the owner or driver of a registered motor vehicle or a passenger is at fault. MAC is headquartered at Adelaide, Australia.
