Columbia Power & Water Systems (CPWS) is an electric and water utility distribution company. The company is mainly engaged in power distribution to their broad customer base across the region. CPWS has spanned its operation throughout the region, serving almost 22,820 customers, consisting of 19,217 residential, 3,565 commercial and industrial customers, and 38 security, street and athletic lighting customers and renders its services to the City of Columbia, the Town of Spring Hill and parts of rural Maury and Williamson Counties. The company purchases all its electrical power from Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) under purchase power contracts. Further, CPWS also serves the region with treated water through its water system treatment plant, with a design capacity of 20 million gallons per day (mgd). Apart from this, CPWS also provides cable television, high-speed internet, commercial data services and wide area networks to over 6,000 homes and businesses across the city. The company is headquartered at Columbia, the US.
