Wheat Belt Public Power District
Wheat Belt Public Power District (Wheat Belt PPD) is a Nebraska based company engaged in providing electricity and electrical services to its customers. Its service area covers approximately 2,500 square miles of the southern portion of the Nebraska panhandle. The company serves the communities of Gurley, Lorenzo, Sunol, Reddington and Dalton. During 2008, Wheat Belt PPD plant has 150 miles of 34.5KV transmission line, 2,209 miles of overhead distribution and another 150 miles of underground distribution lines to deliver power. The company serves 1,977 residential rural customers, 1,475 seasonal residential customers, 959 irrigation customers, 360 small commercial and 3 industrial customers. On an average the company sell about 160,000 MWH of energy yearly.
