Willmar Municipal Utilities (Willmar Municipal) is a Minnesota based company, principally engaged in providing reliable, electric, water and district heating service to its customers at competitive rates. The company provides quality transmission and distribution services through its well placed electric system comprising four substations with 190 miles of distribution lines and 35 miles of transmission lines. Willmar Municipa also provides water, sewage and heating services to its customers in Willmar. Its water system pumps an average of 4.6 million gallons of water from 16 wells each day. Furthermore, in 2009, the company successfully completed the first phase of the Willmar Municipal Utility (WMU) Wind Energy Project in collaboration with DeWind, a turbine manufacturer. Willmar Municipal also provides wide variety of energy rebate and credit programs to its commercial, industrial and residential customers. The company is headquartered at Willmar, Minnesota.
