Vedanta Resources plc (Vedanta) is a diversified metals and mining group. Vedanta is principally engaged in the production of copper, zinc, aluminum and iron ore metals. In addition, the company is also involved in commercial power generation. Vedanta mainly operates in India and also has assets and operations in Australia and Zambia. The company conducts its copper business through its subsidiaries Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd, Konkola Copper Mines and Copper Mines of Tasmania Pty Ltd. The Zinc business is operated by Hindustan Zinc Limited, Iron ore business is operated by Sesa Goa Limited and the Aluminum business is operated by Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd, Madras Aluminium Company Ltd and Vedanta Aluminium Ltd. The company is headquartered at London, the UK.
