Marchwood Power Limited (Marchwood Power) is the UK based joint venture company between ESB International Limited (ESBI) and Scottish and Southern Energy plc (SSE). The company is principally engaged in the production of power. It is currently involved in the erection of 842MW gas-fired power station located near Southampton, Hampshire. Marchwood Power is a natural gas combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant. SSE supplies gas to the power plant and take its electricity output for an initial 15 years. Marchwood Power will be operate at 58% fuel efficiency, compared to 30%-35% efficiencies in the other power stations. It provides electricity to nearly one million homes. The company is headquartered at Marchwood in Hampshire, the UK.
