Lea County Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LCEC) is a power distribution cooperative. The company is engaged in providing electricity and energy related services to its member-owners. LCEC operates more than 4,154 miles of distribution line to deliver power to more than 6,873 members covering 15,073 meters of service area. The company serves parts of Chaves, Eddy and Lea counties in New Mexico and portions of Cochran, Gaines, and Yoakum counties in west Texas. It serves residential, irrigation, small and large commercial and industrial customers. The company purchases power from Southwestern Public Service Company which is engaged in the generation, purchase, transmission, distribution, and sale of electricity to wholesale and retail customers in parts of Texas and New Mexico. LCEC is headquartered in New Mexico, the US.
