Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) is engaged in power generation activities. GSECL produces and supplies electricity in the state of Gujarat. The company was promoted by the former Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). It owns and operates 13 power stations based on various technologies including thermal, gas, lignite, and hydro. GSECL is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a total installed capacity of 4,766 MW. In addition, the company has three power projects being implemented, with a total capacity of 1,075 MW. Further, the company obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification during July 09.
