Dayton Power and Light Company
Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L) is a US based power generation company. The company is a principal subsidiary of DPL Inc. (DPL). DP&L is engaged in generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity to residential, commercial, industrial, and government customers across an area of 6,000 square mile in West Central Ohio. The company supplies power to more than 515,274 retail customers as well as supplies excess electricity to the wholesale market. In addition, DP&L also sells electricity to DPL Energy Resources, Inc. (DPLER), an affiliate, to meet the electric requirements of its retail customers. The company generates electricity through its eight coal fired power plants and combustion turbine and diesel peaking units, with peak generation capacity of approximately 3,213 MW allocated at its 24 county service area. DP&L serves a range of industries including automotive, food processing, paper, plastic manufacturing, and defense. The company generates 3,700 megawatts capacity of power through 10 different plants. DP&L is headquartered in Ohio, the US.
