Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) is an electricity company in Afghanistan. DABS has replaced Da Afghanistan Breshna Moassessa (DABM), the former national electric utility in Afghanistan. DABS was incorporated on 4th May 2008 as a result of regulatory reforms targeted to form an autonomous, commercially-oriented, and financially viable enterprise and enable it to provide reliable and affordable electricity in the country. DABS is engaged in the generation, import, transmission and distribution of power. The company is an independent and autonomous corporation, owned by the government of Afghanistan. It generates electricity from hydro and thermal generation assets and also imports electricity from the neighboring countries namely, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Iran. The company is headquartered at Kabul, Afghanistan.
