American Transmission Company LLC
American Transmission Company LLC (ATC) operates as a transmission utility in the US power grid business. ATC owns, operates, monitors, and maintains more than 9,400 miles of high-voltage electric transmission lines and 510 substations. It operates two system operations centers. The company is also engaged in upgrading transmission lines, until now it has upgraded 1,800 miles of transmission lines. It operates across 72 counties in the four states namely, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Its customers include electricity producers and electric distribution companies, municipal utilities, and cooperative utilities that procure primary network transmission service; local and national marketers, generators, and utilities, which primarily procure point-to-point service; and generators, load-serving entities, and other transmission systems. The company is headquartered in Wisconsin, the US.
In the fiscal year 2009, the company delivered 63,414 GWH of energy to about 5 million people and the peak demand was 11,868 MW.
