Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC (CEC) is an electric utility company engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity. The company operates on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. It supplies power to the mines and transmission for national utilities ZESCO Limited (ZESCO) and SNEL of the Democratic Republic of Congo through the Zambia– Congo inter-connector. In addition, CEC also carries telecommunications traffic, in a Carrier of Carriers capacity using fiber optic technology installed on its network. The company owns 884 km of 220kV and 66kV transmission lines, 540 km of optic fiber on power lines, 38 major substations and 80 MW of gas turbine generation. CEC is headquartered in Kitwe, Zambia.
