Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd. (MSETCL) is a power generation company. The company is responsible for the generation and transmission of electricity for fulfilling the needs of the Maharashtra state. Its vision is to model STU and transmission licensee with respect to planning, project implementation, operational capabilities and performance. MSETCL is also engaged in the development of network and planning various investments for an intra-state transmission system for developing system planning capacities within the organization. In addition, it also develops a state-of-the-art SLDC with corresponding communication, RTU and SCADA systems.
MSETCL is also engaged in the power distribution and transmission. The company transfers power at various voltages through its 498 substations with the overall transformation capacity of 61,530 MVA via transmission line length of 36287 CKT KM. The overall status of EHV Shunt Capacitors of the company is 1635 MVAr Capacity. Its bus reactors are located at Karodi, Chandrapur, Parli, Bhusawal and Dhule.
MSETCL , announced project financing of INR21,670 million ($472.14 million) for the construction of four transmission projects in Maharashtra, India. The financing will be provided by Rural Electrification Corporation. The company plans to establish a transmission network with transmission capacity of 30,000 to 35,000 Mw by 2012.
