Polski Koncern Naftowy Orlen SA (PKN Orlen) is engaged in downstream activities for crude oil. The company is involved in the manufacturing, distributing, wholesale and retail sale of refined petrochemical products. The company principally focuses on the processing of crude oil into unleaded petrol, diesel, heating oil, and aviation fuel, as well as plastics and other petroleum related products. In addition, it offers transportation and storage services, buys and recycles chemical waste and engaged in research and development in the area of processing, trade and storage of liquid and gas fuels. The company also generates electricity using thermal energy with combined heat and power plant capacity of 2024 Mwt and 345 Mwe. The company has seven refineries and around 2,600 retail sites operate in Poland, Germany, Czech Republic and Lithuania. The company is headquartered in Plock, Poland.
In February 2011, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. (PKN ORLEN) signed a spot agreement with Vitol S.A. for crude oil deliveries to ORLEN Lietuva. The estimated net value of the agreement amounts to $68 million.
