N.A. Dollezhal Research and Development Institute of Power Engineering (NIKIET) is a Russia based nuclear services providing organization. It is one of the largest nuclear research centers in the country. NIKIET specializes in reactor technology and develops reactors for nuclear power plants, ship and other nuclear power and propulsion systems, research reactors and integrated automated control systems. It also engages in research activities on hydrodynamics, material science, nuclear, reactor physics, thermal physics, radiation and environmental safety of nuclear reactors along with the optimization of nuclear reactor core regions, service life management and decommissioning of nuclear installations. It has pioneered in the field of nuclear and radiation safety activities associated with decommissioning of nuclear submarines and other naval ships. NIKIET participates in various international contracts, European Commission programmes and as well as bilateral projects for safety analysis and improvement of RBMK plants. Furthermore, it also developing a nuclear power and propulsion system for space missions. NIKIET is headquartered in Moscow, Russia.
