Dunegan Engineering Company, Inc.
Dungeon Engineering Company, Inc. (DECI) is a provider of testing services using acoustic emissions. The company was founded in 1968 as Dungeon Research Corporation. DECI principally engages in offering acoustic emission testing, training and inspection services, including nondestructive testing, leak, corrosion and crack detection, and model analysis and reporting. Dungeon Engineering specializes in engineering and manufacturing acoustic emission sensors, instruments, testing and training. Acoustic Emission (AE) technology utilizes ultrasonic transducers to listen the sounds of failure occurring in materials and structures. AE signals can be produced using fiber breakage, matrix cracking, and delaminating mechanisms when stress is applied to the material or structure. The company through this AE technology detects crack growth due to fatigue, hydrogen embrittlement , stress corrosion, and creep. It is also used in nondestructive testing for structural integrity of composite materials and structures made from composite materials. The product portfolio of the company includes acoustic emission sensors, termite tracker, AESMART 2000, integral pre amplifier transducers, and accessories. The company is headquartered in Midland, Texas, the US.
