China Atomic Energy Authority
China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) is a government operated nuclear industry organization. It is mainly engaged in providing a wide range of services for the nuclear industry in China. CAEA principally focuses on safe and peaceful nuclear energy development in the country. The organization involves in various activities such as nuclear safety, research and development, application of nuclear techniques and international co-operation. It activities are carried out by five different departments: administration, system engineering, international cooperation, general planning and science, technology and quality control. The organization coordinates the cooperation and exchange in governments and international organizations in the field of nuclear energy. In addition, CAEA also involves in the construction, management and supervision on major projects, and nuclear accident emergency. Further, it carries out nuclear material control, nuclear export supervision and management services.
Recently, CAEA and IAEA signed a joint statement with a view to promoting sustainable socio-economic development of China. The organization is headquartered at Beijing, China.
