Centro de Fusao Nuclear
Centro de Fusao Nuclear (CFN) is a Portugal based research unit of Instituto Superior Tecnico. It is involved in work programme of the Contract of Association between IST and the European Atomic Energy Community (EURATOM). CFN principally engages in the development of research and development projects in view of EURATOM fusion programme. The research unit also provides high-end education and training services for technicians, engineers and physicists in plasma physics, engineering and fusion related technologies. In addition CFN also involves in academic programmes such as graduation and post-graduation in the area of plasma physics and engineering. It has collaboration agreements with various overseas institutions enabling access to medium and large size fusion plasma experiments. CFN has well established facilities such as laboratories in microwaves, fast electronics, vacuum and applied optics areas. CFN together with Centro de Fisica de Plasmas, has the status Associate Laboratory of Fundaçao para a Ciencia e a Tecnologia (FCT). Centro de Fusao Nuclear is headquartered in Lisboa, Portugal.
