Wisconsin Public Service Corporation
Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPSC) is a natural gas and electric utility company. The company is an operating subsidiary of Integrys Energy Group, Inc. WPSC distributes power through its diverse resource mix, such as 15% from nuclear, 65% from coal fired, 4% from combustion turbines, hydroelectric and renewable resources. In addition, the remaining 16% of the power is purchased from neighboring utilities and states. The company owns and operates 15 hydroelectric plants on the Wisconsin, Tomahawk, Peshtigo and Menominee Rivers; coal fired power plants with a net generating capacity of 1,269.3 MW peaking power plants with a generating capacity of 495.9MW. The company is engaged in power generation and distribution throughout northeastern and central Wisconsin and Menominee, Michigan. The company operates through its 19 district offices and provides service across 24 counties.
Furthermore, the company constructed fourth unit in Weston power plant near Wausau enhancing their generation fleet. The plant established is a fossil fueled and clean coal technology plant, with net generating capacity of 456.6MW. The company purchases all of its gas supply from gas producers and marketing companies, and has contracts with ANR Pipeline company for transportation and storage services. WPSC is headquartered in Wisconsin, the US.
