Qatar Petroleum is engaged in exploration, drilling, production, storage and transportation of crude oil and natural gas. It is also involved in sale of crude oil, natural gas liquids, liquefied natural gas (LNG), gas-to-liquids, refined products, petrochemicals and fertilizers. It provides helicopter and financing services. Currently, the company crude oil and natural gas assets include onshore Dukhan field, two offshore oil fields and the North gas field. The two offshore oil fields include Bul Hanine and Maydan Mahzam. It is headquartered in Doha, Qatar.

The company carries out its operations through its subsidiaries and the joint ventures which include Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Ltd. (Qatargas), RasGas Companies, Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), Qatar Fuel Additives Company Ltd (QAFAC), Qatar Chemical Company (Q-Chem), Gulf Helicopter Company (GHC), Qatar Vinyl Company (QVC) and Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO).
