Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd. (Nakilat) is a newly formed shipping company. The company is engaged in LNG transportation from Qatar North field through its huge fleet of vessels. Nakilat is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qatar Gas Transport Company. The company is a joint stock company, which is owned 50% by the public and 50% by various Qatari national companies. Nakilat is also part of the supply chain of advanced energy projects in the world which are undertaken by Qatar Petroleum, Qatargas, RasGas and their joint venture partners. The company is also focused on transportation of other associated products such as: LPG, Condensate and Sulphur. It is headquartered in Doha, Qatar.The company reported revenues of (Qatari Rial) QAR 287.15 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, an increase of 73.79% over 2007. The operating profit of the company was QAR 227.95 million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 75.71% over 2007. The net profit of the company was QAR 129.06 million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 44.19% over 2007.
