BP Pakistan Exploration & Production Inc. (BP Pakistan) is engaged in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas. The company operations are based in eight districts in Sindh province. The company is a subsidiary of BP p.l.c. and was founded in 1978. In addition, the company`s has an office in Islamabad and a field office in district Badin. The company is headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan.
To further expand in Pakistan, BP Pakistan has acquired significant off-shore acreage for petroleum exploration. This acreage is situated 250 km south of Karachi in ultra deep waters. BP Pakistan also acquired Occidental Petroleum Corporation`s oil and gas interests in Pakistan. Following that, the company further expanded its portfolio by acquiring working interests and license to operate the Mirpurkhas Khipro (MKK) blocks. Furthermore, the company is also active in automotive and industrial lubricants business. The company sells its lubricants under the Castrol brand.
