AES Gener S.A. (Gener) is engaged in power generation through thermal and hydro power plants in Chile. The company owns and operates power plants, that operate on coal, gas, diesel, biomass and water, and provides electricity to the northern and central part of the country. Gener has a total generation capacity of 4,281 MW and operates 1,511 km of transmission lines. Gener produces electricity in Argentina and Colombia through its subsidiaries Termoandes S.A. and Chivor & Cia. S.C.A. E.S.P., respectively. The company owns and operates AES Chivor, a 1,000 MW hydroelectric plant in Colombia. The company distributes coal in Chile and transports natural gas in Chile and Argentina. It sells electricity in the Central Interconnected System (SIC) and the Greater Northern Interconnected System (SING) in Chile, the National Interconnected System (SIN) in Colombia and the Argentine Interconnected System (SADI). Gener is headquartered in Santiago, Chile.
