The Hongkong Electric Company, Limited
The Hongkong Electric Company, Limited (HEC) is engaged in power generation and transmission business. The company is a principal subsidiary of Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited. HEC has an installed capacity of 3,756 MW and serves over half a million customers in Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island. The company`s electric generation is carried out by the Lamma Power Station. The Lamma Power Station comprises of eight coal-fired units, five gas turbine units, one wind turbine and two combined cycle units. HEC transmission network mainly comprises of 275kV and 132kV underground and submarine cables.
