Pacific Energy Limited
Pacific Energy Limited (PEL) is a power generating company. It is principally engaged in the development, ownership and maintenance of renewable energy power stations. The company owns and operates two hydro electric power stations, namely, Blue Rock Power Station located at Victoria in South Australia and Cardinia Power Station located at New South Wales. In 2009, the company acquired Kalgoorlie Power Systems (KPS), which has a generating capacity of 100 MW and biomass fuelled power station at Wanneroo with generating capacity of 30MW. The company sells its energy to local electricity retailers. It is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, Australia.
Pacific Energy, through its subsidiary Pacific Energy (KPS) Pty Limited, has signed a new electricity supply contract with Navigator Resources Limited (Navigator Resources) to build, own and maintain the Bronzewing gold project power station. The new electricity supply contract has a term of five years. Further, the company also signed a 10 years electricity supply contract with Mt Weld Mining Pty. Ltd. (Mt Weld Mining) to build, own and maintain the Mt Weld rare earths concentration plant power station. It is also involved in building, owning and operating a 30 MW plantation residue biomass fuelled energy power station, though its wholly owned subsidiary SpiritWest Bioenergy Pty Ltd.
