American Municipal Power, Inc.
American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) is a nonprofit corporation engaged in generation, transmission and distribution of electric power and energy. It is involved in design and maintenance projects for electric systems. In addition, AMP-Ohio offers power supply planning, financial services, electric and natural gas aggregation to its member communities. The membership of the company currently includes 82 public power communities in Ohio, 30 in Pennsylvania, six in Michigan, five in Virginia, two in West Virginia and three in Kentucky. It owns a power generating station in Marietta, Ohio. AMP is headquartered at Columbus in Ohio, the US.
In June 2009, the company changed its name from American Municipal Power-Ohio, Inc. to American Municipal Power, Inc.
