NxtPhase T&D Corporation (NxtPhase) is a high-voltage electric power managing equipments company. Its focus is on developing, manufacturing and marketing optical sensors and digital solutions for electric power industry. The company applies fiber-optic gyro technology in developing its products. The technology leads to the development of accurate optical voltage transducer that keeps away the environmental concerns of alternative optical or conventional technologies. NxtPhase products are used for improving grid throughput and increasing efficiency of power transmission with the digital control process of the grid. The product portfolio of the company includes current, voltage sensors, and current and voltage sensors over the range of transmission voltages up to 550 kV. NxtPhase has sales and manufacturing operations in the US and Canada, with installations across the world. The company is headquartered at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
In 2009, the company was acquired by AREVA which reinforced AREVA`s Transmission and Distribution division will to position itself as technology opinion leader in the NCIT market.
