Nexans S.A. is engaged in providing copper and fiber-optic cables and cabling systems to the cable industry, building industry and infrastructure markets. The company also provides a wide range of energy and telecom cables for production and distribution, onshore and offshore prospecting as well as for refinery and petrochemical infrastructure. It offers services to onshore, offshore topside and offshore submarine for oil and gas industries. It has six main products which includes indoor cabling, industrial cabling, power network cabling, telecom network cabling, optical fiber cables and associated interconnect solutions. The company production operations are running in 39 countries worldwide. The company is headquartered in Paris, France.

It also provides lead-in cables, gun cables and bottom-laid cables for 4D seismic acquisition which offer high mechanical strength and operational flexibility. It provides Transfer lines which consist of concentric, flexible, vacuum-insulated corrugated tubes for carrying liquefied gases between floating production ships, shuttle tankers, LNG carriers and onshore LNG receiving terminals. Recently, Nexas won the energy Master Award 2010 for its superconducting current limiter.The company reported revenues of (Euro) EUR 4,026.00 million during the fiscal year ended December 2009, a decrease of 15.70% from 2008. The operating profit of the company was EUR 153.00 million during the fiscal year 2009, a decrease of 26.79% from 2008. The net profit of the company was EUR 8.00 million during the fiscal year 2009, a decrease of 90.36% from 2008.
