AREVA T&D provides transmission and distribution of energy to improve network stability. The company engages in the design, manufacture and installation of high-and medium-voltage products to transmit and distribute electricity from generation point to the end users. AREVA T&D offers equipment, systems, and integrated services for network management and high-voltage substation operations. The company`s products and services are applicable across power generation; transmission solutions for grid connections and in-house electrical distribution of power plants; electrical railway infrastructures; and medium-voltage solutions for the electrical distribution of industrial, commercial, and public infrastructures. Further, AREVA T&D offers solutions such as circuit breakers and contractors, disconnectors, gas-insulated switchgear, fuses, prefabricated substations, air core reactors, line traps, instrument transformers, power and distribution transformers, bushings, surge arresters, protection relays, and measurement and recording products. The company also provides controllers and RTUs, engineering tools, graphical user interface products, digital control systems, gateways and simulation tools; energy, generation and distribution management systems; and market management systems. It also provides services for telecommunication, monitoring, control and fault detection solutions. The company is headquartered in Paris, France.

In 2010, AREVA T&D division was awarded a contract in India by state utility Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited. AREVA will build an Extra High Voltage substation at the Anpara “D” thermal power plant in the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India. During the same year, the company secured an order to supply Adif, the Spanish State company in charge of all national railways infrastructures, with autotransformers for the high-speed network.
