Washington Electric Membership Corporation (Washington EMC) is a member owned electric utility services cooperative. The company is principally engaged in the distribution of electrical power and other value added services to its members. Washington EMC maintains 2,916 miles of distribution system and has more than 15,307 meters installed. The company receives electricity from Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC), a wholesale power supplier. Washington EMC operates through Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC), and Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC). The company generates electricity from a diverse portfolio of power resources, including fossil, nuclear, coal and hydro facilities, as well as long-term and short-term contracts. Washington EMC is headquartered in Georgia, the US.
