Talquin Electric Cooperative
Talquin Electric Cooperative, Inc. (TEC) is a member owned electric distribution cooperative. The cooperative is engaged in distribution of electrical power and other energy related product and services such as portable electric generators, water and wastewater services. It operates and maintains 4,400 miles of distribution system. The cooperative was incorporated in 1940, providing electrical power to more than 54,000 residential and commercial accounts and water or wastewater services to more than 20,000 accounts. The cooperative is headquartered in Quincy, Florida, the US.
TEC purchases wholesale power from Seminole Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SECI), a generation and transmission cooperative that provide electrical power electricity to TEC and nine other cooperatives located throughout peninsular Florida. It generates electricity using diverse fuel mix including coal, nuclear, natural gas and others. SECI provides electrical power generated in TEC distribution facility.
