Southeast Colorado Power Association
Southeast Colorado Power Association (SCPA) is a member owned rural electric cooperative. The cooperative is engaged in provision of distribution of electrical power and other value added services including protective devices, energy efficiency devices, budget billing, energy audits and others. It operate 5,200 mile of distribution line serving an area includes 13,000 square miles in 11 Southeastern Colorado counties, equating to 1.8 consumers per mile.
SCPA purchases electricity from Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association Inc. (TSGTA), which supplies electrical power in GCEA distribution facility. TSGTA generates or purchases electrical power of diversified fuel mix including 70% coal fired generation, 12% from federal hydro electrical generation, 9% basic electric, 6% renewable energy (wind and bio gas) and 3% natural gas generation. The cooperative is headquartered in Colorado, the US.
