Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation (Okefenoke REMC) is a member owned electric utility. The company is engaged in the distribution of electrical power and other energy related product and services to its customers. Okefenoke REMC operates and maintains 3,356 miles of distribution network and has 33,960 meters installed. The company currently provides electric services to nearly 34,000 commercial, industrial and residential customers in southeast Georgia and northeast Florida. Okefenoke REMC along with 38 other EMCs, has formed Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC), a generation and transmission cooperative, that operates through Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC), and Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC). The company generates electricity from a diverse portfolio of power resources, including fossil, nuclear, coal and hydro facilities, as well as long-term and short-term contracts. Okefenoke REMC is headquartered in Georgia, the US.
