Tarong Energy Corporation Limited
Tarong Energy Corporation Limited (Tarong Energy) is an Australian power company which owns, operates and develops power generation assets mainly in the state of Queensland. Tarong Energy is owned by Queensland Government and sells electricity into the National Electricity Market (NEM). In addition, the company also provides ancillary services to the National Electricity Market and Management Company (NEMMCO) through Tarong and Wivenhoe power stations. In addition to its generating assets, Tarong Energy also owns mining assets which supply coal to its generation plants.
The generation assets of the company mainly include coal fired Tarong Power Station and Wivenhoe Power Station, which is a pumped storage hydro plant. Besides, it also owns 50% of coal fired Tarong North Power Station. Total generating capacity of the generation assets of the company is 2,345 MW.
